Crafty Stocking Filler Ideas

Crafty Stocking Filler Ideas

Here at Crafty Bug we thought we’d share with you some of our thoughts and ideas for gifts for the forthcoming festive season by picking out some of those lower cost items that would make great stocking fillers.

At the time of writing all items are priced at no more than £5.

Children’s Beginner Knitting Kit

£4.69 each

It’s never to soon to encourage youngsters to get working with their hands and this Learn to Knit Kit would be a great place to start.  Ideal for children and beginners. Each kit contains 4 x 12gram balls of knitting yarn and 1 pair of 4mm bamboo knitting needles. Yarn colours may vary from pack to pack.

Luca-S Counted Cross Stitch Kit White Sheep

£2.99 each

As I’m sure you’ve spotted, here at Crafty Bug HQ we’re seriously fond of cute sheep and baby goats.  From a completely unpredjudiced point of view, we think this counted Cross Stitch Sheep Kit is ideal for beginners (or sheep lovers!).  The colours used are all completely different making it very easy to see where you are at any point when working the design.  It’s always tricky when you are working with silks of very similar shades but you won’t have that problem here.

Giant Box of Craft 1000 Pieces

£5.00 each

This isn’t a traditional “stocking filler” as it’s perhaps tad on the large size for the average stocking. But in terms of cost and value, or for anyone hanging up their pillowcase, it’s definitely for consideration. This Giant Box of Craft pieces contains 1,000 items to get kids crafting away and includes pipe cleaners, cards, glue, papers, foam shapes, scissors, googly eyes, pom poms and more! There’s a myriad of possibilities for children’s imaginations to really go to town and get creative.  This really is one of those occasions when children will want to play with what’s in the box, rather than with the box and the wrappings themselves. Available from Hobbycraft.

Amos Classic Glitter Glue

£3.99 each

Glitter glue such as this pack of Classic Glitter Glue in assorted colours never goes amiss in a Christmas stocking. Not just for children, crafty adults too will appreciate new colours to add bling to their papercrafting and other projects. After all, who isn’t up for that glamourous touch given by some sparkles?

The Craft of Coloring: 60 Geometric Patterns & Designs

£4.99

Here you’ll find an inspiring collection of 60 line-art designs to colour at home, with family and or out and about. This book covers a brilliant range of patterns in many forms.  It’s up to you whether to use pens, pencils or a mix of  media – whatever takes your fancy on the day.  The pages are single sided so you can use felt pens without any bleeding of colour onto blank designs.  Other colouring books are available in the range and all would suit older children and adults.

Aquabeads Animal Friends Set

£5.00

This Aquabeads Animal Friends Set will give hours of fun and really help children to get creative. Using the four template sheets (with instructions), from a horse to a tortoise, they can easily make animals of all kinds. Simply put the bright and colourful Aquabeads together in the desired animal shape, spray with water and watch them stick! The pack contains over 600 beads in 9 different colours and is suitable for children from age 4 onwards.  Other sets of Aquabeads, such as the Sea Life set, are available at the same price.

Anita’s 2mm Gemstone Wheel – 12 Colours

£3.49

Any crafter would be happy to receive this gift in their Christmas stocking!  This gemstone wheel from the Anita’s range contains a brilliant selection of gems (2mm) with which to embellish projects.

The gems are set out in a handy storage wheel with each section holding a different one of the 12 gem colours.  Access to each colour is made simple with the rotating lid giving an easy window into one section at a time, allowing you to work with your chosen colour.  And not spill them all over the floor or get the colours all mixed up.

A great gift for any crafter who loves to add a bit of sparkle to their projects.
